Square Enix is thinking about bringing Final Fantasy XV to the Nintendo Switch.
While Square Enix hasn’t made any official announcement per se, Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata was certainly hinting hard during a Square Enix panel livestreamed from Gamescom.
“To answer your question of ‘what other things have we got planned for the future,’ we can’t give you any complete, solid details right at the moment,” Hajime said. “But policy-wise we very much do want to move on and do as much as we can with [Final Fantasy XV] and the franchise. So there’s another certain console out there people may be thinking of that sounds a little bit like you guys, your name, Twitch… I think we’ll just leave it there.”
Tabata added that most of the Final Fantasy XV team loves playing the Switch, though his he continued to dance around any actual confirmation.
Both the Final Fantasy XV: Windows Edition for PC and the Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition for mobile devices have recently been announced, so perhaps a Switch port won’t be too far away.
Final Fantasy XV is out now on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
