Bravely Default Demo Arriving on Nintendo 3DS eShop January 2

Posted on December 18, 2013 AT 12:16pm

Nintendo 3DS owners will get access to a free demo for Bravely Default on January 2, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime announced this morning.

The demo will consist of a unique side-story not included as part of the main game, tasking players to help a floating, clockwork town with its restoration efforts. And while the narrative content may not be included in the main game, all items and 3DS Street Pass tags collected in the demo will transfer over.

Fils-Aime also detailed the game’s Sleep Points system, which sees points accumulate for every hour the 3DS is asleep. These Sleep Points can also be restored by purchasing microtransaction potions from within the game, but as Fils-Aime points out, that is a totally optional component that has no direct influence on gameplay. Sleep Points are used for reviving fallen party members and perform other actions in the game.

Bravely Default hits North American store shelves and the 3DS eShop February 7, 2014.
