Successfully crowdfunded adventure title Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse—the fifth installment of the series—will be released on PlayStation Vita, developer Revolution Software announced.

“The PS Vita is an ideal device for an adventure,” Revolution Software co-founder Charles Cecil wrote in a post on the PlayStation Blog,” the combination of the front and rear touch screen, as well as the analog stick and shoulder buttons, gives us so much scope to create a really great user interface.”

Revolution launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2012 with a modest goal of $400,000. The company ultimately surpassed that goal and raised $711,560 in crowdfunded development income, and so the game was delayed until later 2013 to implement several stretch goals promised.

Broken Sword: The Serpent’s Curse is set to launch on Windows PC, Mac OS X, Linux, iOS, Android, and PS Vita Q4 2013.
