Talking to Eurogamer, Adrian Chmielarz—founder of People Can Fly, the studio who worked on Gears of War: Judgment—stated that his company was very interested in making Bulletstorm 2.

According to Chmielarz, Bulletstorm’s biggest enemy was the marketing. Personally, I didn’t think the marketing was disingenuous to the game. It was … let’s call it raunchy. Let’s say absurd. Let’s say, I’ve come to realize, more satirical and less just plain dumb. But perhaps it would’ve been beneficial to have marketed the game as much—as satire.

“Initially I asked can we do it so it sells the game as an action-adventure, a pulp sci-fi roller coaster, and not do the Bad Company 1-style of campaign of silliness and jokes?” Chmielarz said. “And then they showed me some marketing materials and I was laughing and like, ‘OK that’s funny, let’s do this,’ and that was a mistake.”

People Can Fly began development of Bulletstorm 2, but then shifted their focus to Gears of War: Judgment. They’ve made no mention on whether they’ll resume development on Bulletstorm 2 in a post-Judgment world.
