BUZZ: Sony Worldwide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida announced that when Ruin – the upcoming dungeon crawler from Idol Minds and SCE San Diego Studios – hits for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, you’ll get both games in one release.
“Both games will be packaged together,” Yoshida told Eurogamer. “You can play the game at home on PS3, save your data on our PSN server on the cloud, and you can continue playing the game on PS Vita by downloading the save from the PSN. And you can do vice versa. It’s a continuous experience, playing the same game on PS Vita and PS3.”
EGM’s TAKE: Fantastic idea in my opinion. If the price is along the lines of a standard game—and, to be fair, we don’t know the retail price yet—this will be a great way to get more customers to take a chance on the new franchise.
Also, if you’re a PS3 owner, and you suddenly have this free copy of the game for the PS Vita—that could help get you more interested in trying out Sony’s new handheld.
