Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare features a gun that prints its own ammo

Posted on May 26, 2014 AT 08:04am

Sledgehammer is tapping into near future high-tech ideas with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and one of these ideas is a 3D-Printer Rifle that can generate its own ammo.

In practice, players will load the rifle with a canister of liquid matter—instead of the usual magazine—and then pull back the clip to secure it. Once in place, the rifle’s internal computer will begin printing ammunition. Players will be able to see the number of bullets printed via a counter on the gun.

According to Game Informer, Sledgehammer is still tweaking the fire rate and power of this rifle. You can check out some images of the rifle here, along with details on the game’s Hover Bike and Plasma-powered Rifle.

The game also features deployable cover, powerful exoskeletons that can improve combat and jumping ability, walking tanks, cloaking devices, and more.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will be available from November 4 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
