There is a good chance Sony has once again nabbed timed-exclusive content for the next entry in the Call of Duty series, Black Ops 4.
A tweet promoting the game’s upcoming reveal event was recently posted to the official Call of Duty Twitter, accompanied by a short video. The video doesn’t show off anything aside from the logo and event time, but an ad for the PS4 Pro pops up right before the video ends.

This quick ad indicates that PlayStation has seemingly secured marketing rights for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which in turn means that there is likely a deal for the PS4 to receive all post-launch content before any other platform. This would continue a trend that has been ongoing for the past several installments, including last year’s Call of Duty: WWII, which is currently dropping its expansions 30 days early on PlayStation 4.
This platform deal may come to light during the game’s reveal event, which kicks off May 17th at 10 a.m. PT. The event is expected to showcase the game’s multiplayer, but many are hoping for a word on whether rumors of the game abandoning a single-player campaign are true. Fans will be happy to know, however, that the series’ Zombies mode is already confirmed to return. Here’s hoping it will have some presence at the event as well.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is slated to launch October 12th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
