Call of Duty: Elite 2.0 in Development for Next Call of Duty Title
Posted on February 10, 2012 AT 06:31am
THE BUZZ: Activision has announced that this year’s new Call of Duty title will be joined by Call of Duty: Elite 2.0.
“We’re already hard at work on Elite 2.0, with several innovative features being developed to work hand-in-hand with our new Call of Duty release,” revealed the publisher in a recent earnings call.
That was all they had to offer in terms of details, but they did mention that new features would be coming to the current service over the next 60 days.
EGM’s TAKE: This doesn’t come as a major surprise, the service is still in its infancy so its only natural for it to receive an upgrade early on, but does this mean that every year we are going to get a new Elite version? Not that it really matters considering the service is free to everyone anyway, so any upgrades will be welcomed with open arms. Activision has plans to add new features to the current service over the next 60 days, but after that don’t expect anything else to be updated as Beachhead will be hard at work on version 2.0. How will the team build on this success?
