THE BUZZ: Beachhead has released the Call of Duty: Elite app for Android devices as a free download.
“Immerse yourself in Call of Duty® wherever you go with the Call of Duty® ELITE mobile app. Evaluate your multiplayer progress with in-depth stat analysis. Formulate new strategies based on your recent performance and remotely incorporate edits to your loadouts. Push your changes directly into Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 3 so you’re always ready to play,” reads the official description.
The app is completely free to downloaded, however you will need a Call of Duty: Elite account and must have played a least one match of Modern Warfare 3.
EGM’s TAKE: The app has been met with mixed reviews by users, some claiming that it works perfectly, however others are not so pleased, claiming that there are too many bugs and certain features are not even working. This is one of the major downfalls of Android devices. Developing for iOS is much easier as you have one set of specs, whereas Android is supported by hundreds of different phones and tablets, leading to compatibility issues.
One positive review: “Great little simple app! Would like to see 2 major updates: 1. You need to be able to enlist in elite challenges, nothing better the being able to sign up for a competition on the go. 2. This app needs a widget: include basic info and latest news from you guys (ex: ur facebook posts etc)”
One Negative Review: “Its ok but not everything works. For instance the items I have unlocked using prestige tokens I cannot select to use. There’s no part to sign up for operations. Nothing to do with your clan stuff. Pretty much a disapointment like the console release. Oh well guess I should have never expected much do to the console launch.”
Of course these are just two of around 700 reviews currently available for the app, which currently sits at an average rating of 2.9/5. It’s a rough start, but the developers gave fans what they wanted. Now they have time to fix any bugs and improve on the app.
