Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3

THE BUZZ: An email has been sent out by Activision to Call of Duty: Elite founding members saying that the service will be temporarily limiting access to Elite and will be prioritizing access to Founding members.

Anyone who has signed up for a membership currently has Founder status and as such will be able to access the service during this limited phase. The email reads:

“Simply put, we have not lived up to your or our expectations with this launch, and we owe you an apology, and an explanation of how we are fixing this.”

“As a Founder, know that granting your status and in-game benefits in MW3 is a priority. We will also be prioritizing your access to ELITE in order to ensure that you are among the first to get fully into the service. Also, to make sure that you are still getting the value you deserve, we are immediately and automatically extending your membership to Call of Duty ELITE by 30 days at no additional cost.”

EGM’s TAKE: It’s good that Activision is looking after their paying customers and aren’t just locking everyone out of the service while they fix it. And the 30 day extension is a nice touch. But perhaps they should wait until after its fixed to compensate users, so they don’t have to revisit this if it drags out.
