Call of Duty: Ghosts’ single-player campaign on PlayStation 4 will run at 720p resolution out of the box, requiring a day one patch to run at 1080p, according to Activision.

A spokesperson for the publisher confirmed that the multiplayer component will run at 1080p, but the campaign will require a patch to bump it up. “Call of Duty: Ghosts runs natively at 1080p on the PlayStation 4,” the spokesperson told Eurogamer.

“There was a configuration issue in the retail version on single-player mode only. This has been addressed with a day one software update. People will be able to download the day one update when PlayStation 4 launches in their territory and play at native 1080p.”

Ray Carsillo said in our Call of Duty: Ghosts next-gen review, “Ghosts is still an enjoyable experience and shows that Infinity Ward can still hold the line—but the concept falls short of its true potential.”
