“Extinction” in Call of Duty: Ghosts will be a new, four-player co-op mode, developer Infinity Ward and publisher Activision revealed today.
According to the official trailer’s YouTube description, Extinction is akin to a tower defense game, of sorts. One to four players will team up as different character classes to cooperatively defend bases and scavenge for resources in “fast-paced survival action” against various alien creatures which birth out organic pods. So think Santcum, in a sense, but more frenetic and without the base building.
Cal of Duty: Ghosts launches next week, on November 5, for PS3, Xbox 360, Windows PC, and Wii U. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will be available alongside the consoles on November 15 (November 29 in Europe) and November 22 respectively.
