The latest patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 didn’t just add a new game variant, it apparently also sneakily added a new weapon camo inspired by the soon to be announced Call of Duty: Ghosts.
YouTube user “MrJamesGeary” explains that his partner “TheJaRniBoi” was able to unlock the new camo by poking around in the game files added with the latest patch. According to him, the coding makes it appear as if the camo has been put in place to be unlocked with a future update, presumably after the announcement.
Activision is expected to announce Call of Duty: Ghosts later today, according to leaked promotional material. So expect to see this camo either made available for free to celebrate the announcement or added to the store as a new microtransaction purchase.
One of the Youtuber’s videos has been removed and the other set to private, so all that is left are a couple of low quality screen grabs (via MP1st) which you can check out below. A leaked GameStop poster states that Call of Duty: Ghosts will launch on November 5, 2013.
