A new rating on the Pan European Game Information (PEGI)’s website suggests that a remaster of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2‘s campaign is on the way.
Sadly, the listing (via Gematsu), which has since been removed, doesn’t offer much in the way of information, except that it’s coming to PlayStation 4. However, while only PlayStation 4 is listed, it’s likely that the remaster will be released for Xbox One also, as Modern Warfare’s remaster came to both platforms.
If the remaster does exist, then it will presumably be bundled with this year’s Call of Duty entry, which is being developed by Modern Warfare 2 studio Infinity Ward. The previous Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remaster was bundled with special editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, before getting a standalone release later.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 originally released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in 2009.
As for this year’s Call of Duty entry, Activision stated earlier this month that the upcoming entry will be “rooted” in franchise history and feature a single-player campaign.
