Call of Duty: WWII will apparently take up an absurd amount of storage space on the PlayStation 4, almost double the space it takes up on the Xbox One.
An image recently posted to Reddit by user NightRaptorX5Text displays the product information off the back of a PS4 download code for WWII– available at physical retailers. The product lists the minimum file size for WWII on PS4 as 80GB for the Standard Edition of the game, not including substantial bonus content.
Comparatively, the Xbox One version of the game only requires approximately 45GB of space, as fans learned from its preload recently going live. It isn’t fully clear why the application is nearly twice the size on the PS4, but as the information lists the game as “PS4 PRO ENHANCED”, the large file size could be the result of the game’s visual upgrades. These upgrades won’t factor into the Xbox One version until the graphical update that will drop alongside the Xbox One X.
Call of Duty: WWII is launching November 3rd on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Some fans may have gotten the game early through less official channels, as one Indiana man was recently arrested for the theft and sale of stolen copies of the game.
