Call of Duty: WWII dropped a brand-new trailer for its first DLC pack, The Resistance, that details all the new additions we’ll be getting when the DLC launches on January 30th for PlayStation 4.
The Resistance will include three new multiplayer maps all based around the various resistance movements that popped up around Europe during World War II. Anthropoid, set in Czechoslovakia, is based on “Operation Anthropoid,” the real-life assassination mission of Holocaust architect Reinhard Heydrich in Prague. Occupation is set in Nazi-occupied Paris and is a remake of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3‘s map, Resistance, so if you’ve played that map you’ll know what to expect. The third map, Valkyrie, is set deep in the Prussian woods and is based on Wolf’s Lair, Hitler’s headquarters during the Soviet invasion.
The Resistance is also introducing a new map for War mode. Set outside of St. Lo in France, Operation Intercept will task Allied forces with rescuing captured resistance fighters before pushing on to wipe out Axis communications and eventually taking down a train.
Nazi Zombies is also getting its next chapter in The Resistance. “The Darkest Shore” follows the events in Mittleburg and takes the crew to an island north of Germany, where Doktor Straub is hanging out, according to intel. The island is shrouded in fog, which will undoubtedly lead to a few jump scares, especially with a new, intelligent zombie hankering for your flesh.
PlayStation 4 players will have the first crack at The Resistance when it launches on January 30th, with Xbox One and PC release dates yet to be announced. This will be the first of four DLC packs planned for Call of Duty: WWII.
