Campo Santo announces first-person exploration and mystery game Firewatch

Posted on March 13, 2014 AT 01:42pm

A first-person exploration mystery game called Firewatch is recently formed indie developer Campo Santo’s debut project, the studio announced today.

According to the game’s official website, Firewatch revolves around a man named Henry who works as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness, with his only human contact his supervisor, Delilah. One day, as often happens in videogames, “something strange” lures Henry out from his lookout tower and into “a wild and unknown environment.”

Firewatch’s FAQ page states that there’s no release date, but that the team would love for it to come out in 2015.” Similarly, while it’s confirmed for Windows, Mac, and Linux, they “would love hte game to be on a console and are actively exploring the prospect.”

San Francisco–based Campo Santo, formed late last year,  is comprised of former Telltale Games and Klei Entertainment developers that worked on Mark of the Ninja and The Walking Dead, as well as graphic designer Olly Moss, whose previous works include projects with Lucasfilm, Mondo, Sony, and Studio Ghibli.
