Capcom Japan is doing a little spin on the upcoming release of Street Fighter X Tekken for the PlayStation Vita, offering an interestingly unique pre-order incentive that puts the female fighters front and center. Aside from an assured copy of the game, this region-exclusive perk will also net buyers a collection of “girls only” art sleeves for the PS Vita game case.
And hopefully, the American and European versions get a similar deal, because the artwork is pretty hot stuff.
Sadly, it’s probably going to remain a Japanese-region exclusive, as the special packaging is only available when you pre-order Street Fighter X Tekken from the E-Capcom store by October 25th.
Now, if you’re an import-minded gamer who can read Japanese, there’s nothing stopping you. As a friendly reminder (and I’m sure you know this), the PlayStation Vita is region-free, meaning you can actually play the Japanese edition of SFXT with no fuss, no matter where in the world you hail from.
Shoryuken notes that the exclusive art also comes in a pack of three sleeves, featuring female fighters like mighty Chun Li, lithe Ling Xiaoyu, cutthroat Nina Williams, the lovely Poison, and spunky Asuka Kazama. Me-ow, ladies.
For those of you who’ll settle for the standard pack, Street Fighter X Tekken releases in North America on October 23rd (two days ahead of Japan) and earlier in Europe on October 19th. Isn’t it weird that Japan’s getting it last?
