Capcom Teaming Up With Rez HD Developers For Okami HD

There’s probably no doubt that Okami HD is going to look like watercolored dynamite when it hits the PlayStation Network, but the inclusion of a specially talented developer studio is never bad news.
As Joystiq reports, Capcom is teaming up with Hexa Drive, the developer that upscaled Rez HD for Xbox Live Arcade back in 2007. By all counts, that project was a rousing success, adding widescreen and improved sound editing while keeping Q Entertainment’s original game completely intact.
For Okami, which has already been ported to the Nintendo Wii, the added talent should help the game take full advantage of the PS3′s superior hardware. In the Wii version of Okami, the graphics were optimized for 480p resolution.
It also probably doesn’t hurt that there’s optional PlayStation Move integration, too, which would seem to fit hand-in-hand with Amaterasu’s special attacks and other painting-themed features. After all, it benefitted the Wii version, but I’m just tossing ideas out there.
