Capcom’s 2014 Plans Include Reviving a Classic, Fighting Game, New Phoenix Wright

Posted on December 30, 2013 AT 02:05pm

In an interview with Japanese gaming outlet 4gamer, several of Capcom’s movers and shakers  teased some of the company’s plans for 2014.

In the interview (translated through Google), Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies director Takeshi Yamazaki confirmed that the team has started work on the next Phoenix Wright title, which will be announced sometime next year.

Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara producer Kenji Kataoka, meanwhile, revealed that another classic Capcom game will be given new life in the new year in the same vein as Mystara. Thoughts? I want to say Breath of Fire, but Breath of Fire 6 has already been announced, and boy does it not look at all what this longtime BoF fan wanted.

And finally, Deep Down producer Kazunori Sugiura emphasized that Capcom will be reaffirming their presence in the fighting game market in 2014. This is, of course, conjecture, but by his tone I suspect Sugiura means in a fashion that’s beyond just releasing the already announced, already expected Ultra Street Fighter IV update.
