Captain Toad has decided to delay his adventures into Europe until 2015, Nintendo has announced.

In its most recent financial report, the company announced that Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, based on the Super Mario 3D World mini-game, has been pushed back to a January 2015 release window. The North America and Japan launches are still on track for 2014.

A Nintendo Europe spokesperson later confirmed the delay to Joystiq, stating that the decision was made to “optimize” the launch timing in the region. “In order to optimize the best possible launch timing for Europe, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, originally announced as coming to Wii U in Winter 2014, is now confirmed to launch in the European market in January 2015.”

To help soften the blow, why not take a look at our E3 hands-on preview of the game.
