THE BUZZ: Capybara Games—the Toronto, Canada development house behind titles such as Critter Crunch, Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, and Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP—announced their latest project today.
Titled Super T.I.M.E. Force, the game has been submitted as a “Main Competition Entrant” for the 2012 Independent Games Festival. What will we have to look forward to in Super T.I.M.E. Force? Here’s the game’s caps-loving description:
THE YEAR: 198X
LOCATION: OUTER-SPACE
THE PROBLEM: EVERYTHING’S GONE TO SHIT
THE MISSION: ERASE HISTORY’S DUMB MISTAKES
THE GOAL: MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE FOR YOU AND ME
THE TEAM: T.I.M.E (TEMPORAL INEVITABILITY MANIPULATION EXPERTS), AN ELITE SQUAD OF TIME-TRAVELING BADASSES
QUALIFICATIONS: MAXIMUM BADASSERY
ALSO: THEY HOLD PATENTS ON TIME TRAVEL GEAR THAT NO ONE HAS
THE PLAN: JUMP THROUGH TIME AND KILL STUFF THAT NEVER SHOULD’VE HAPPENED
FOR INSTANCE: COVERT ALIEN INVASIONS, NAZIS, BOY BANDS, ETC.
THE CATCH: ALTERING PRE-EXISTING EVENTS IN SPACE-TIME COULD HAVE DIRE CONSEQUENCES
THE CONSEQUENCES:
- PISSING OFF GOD
- TOTAL ANNIHILATION OF ALL MATTER OF EXISTENCE
- ACCIDENTALLY DATING YOUR MOTHERPROBABILITY OF SUCCESS: UNCERTAIN
THE RISK: WORTH IT
WHEN DO THEY START: NOW!
EGM’s TAKE: I am most certainly interested in seeing more of what Super T.I.M.E. Force will have to offer. The team at Capybara games seem like good folk who always try to make great games, so I expect nothing but the same for this one. There’s also one other bit of confirmed info—while the exact platform(s) Super T.I.M.E. Force will arrive on are not yet announced, we can for certain (thanks to a post on NeoGAF from a member of the team) know it won’t be for iOS or Android. Or—and this one really disappoints me—Neo Geo Pocket.
