Carmageddon: Reincarnation Coming to Next-Gen Consoles Courtesy of $3.5M Investment

Posted on March 20, 2013 AT 12:41pm

A  ”funding round” that brought the Carmageddon: Reincarnation investment $3.5 million will allow Stainless Games to bring the title to next-gen platforms as well as PC, the studio announced.

The remainder of Carmageddon: Reincarnation’s investment comes from Bullfrog Productions co-founder Les Edgar, who is also a Stainless Games shareholder. Over $600,000 were contributed through Reincarnation’s Kickstarter campaign from last summer, which funded the PC version.

“We are delighted to have fully funded Carmageddon: Reincarnation without having to go outside of the collective of our own company, shareholders and fans.” Stainless Games CEO Patrick Buckland said in this morning’s press release. “It allows us to maintain a true independence and creative control whilst not having to compromise quality or content by budgetary constraints.”

Stainless Games was among the third-party developers listed during February’s PlayStation 4 event, so it’s safe to assume that PS4 is among the next-gen paltforms on which Stainless plans to release Carmageddon: Reincarnation.
