CCP games is offering all EVE Online players 50,000 skill points as an apology for the server downtime suffered as the result of a DDoS attack over the weekend.

According to the developer, this was the “longest downtime in quite a while,” and as a result CCP believed that players were owed something, despite it not actually having anything to do with them. CCP was forced to take both its Eve Online, and Dust 514 servers offline after the attack in order to investigate what had happened.

All players, except those with trial accounts, will be granted the skill points.
