November 15th marks 15 years since the release of Halo: Combat Evolved on Xbox and 343 Industries has laid out its celebration plans.
To start things off, tomorrow at 3:43 p.m. PST, the developer will be hosting a special anniversary episode of the Halo livestream.
“During the jam-packed show we’ll have a special walkthrough of the Halo Museum, talk Halo Wars 2 with Dan Ayoub & Max Szlagor, hear about some of the team and community’s fondest Halo memories, play Halo 5 with fans, talk HCS with Tashi & Strongside, take a look at the upcoming Halo Loot crate with James, answer your tweets and whatever else we end up doing when we inevitably stray from script,” a post on Halo Waypoint explains.
As well as this, a special “Anniversary Throwback” playlist will be available in Halo 5: Guardians. The playlist contains a number of reimagined Halo: Combat Evolved maps and features the Halo: CE pistol as the starting weapon. Players will also receive some birthday goodies, but the developer isn’t ready to share exactly what they will be.
Finally, on November 15th, members of the 343 development team will be online playing in the Anniversary Throwback playlist. You’ll recognize them via the official 343 emblem.
Last week was also the 12th anniversary of Halo 2, which launched in 2004 for Xbox and PC.
