Call of Duty

Activision has announced Operation: Shamrock and Awe for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

To begin with, each week players will be gifted a free Supply Drop from now through to April 3rd. Players also gain limited-time access to an updated version of the Downpour map.

“Besides being known for its long sightlines, mounted machine guns, and sneaky peripheral routes, Downpour is a map also known for its fierce weather,” the developer explains. “But a bit of luck has landed on your side as the clouds have parted and shed sunlight on this map. Daybreak is a free map, available only during Operation: Shamrock & Awe, that turns Downpour upside down and replaces it with a lush, green countryside filled with St. Paddy’s décor and a rainbow, naturally.”

On top of this, there’s also two themed weapon camos—the Shamrockin’ “Folium” and the rainbowtized “Prism”—and three new themed collections that unlock St. Patrick’s Day-themed reticles, camos, calling cards, and emblems. Completing the bounty attached to each set will unlock the following bonuses: the “Luck” collection unlocks a new character, “Leprechaun” rewards a Shillelagh melee weapon, and “Pot o’ Gold” unlocks a unique calling card.

Finally, completing all three collections unlocks Darren “Graves” Cosgrave as a playable character.

Operation: Shamrock and Awe runs from now until April 3rd at 12:01 a.m. PDT.
