For those unable to attend PAX Prime, to which Double Fine brought a playable build of their upcoming Final Fantasy Tactics– and Fire Emblem–inspired strategy RPG Massive Chalice, the studio uploaded a length gameplay video.

In the video (seen above), project lead Brad Muir demonstrates the game’s tactical and strategic gameplay mechanics while discussing their finer points and touching upon the game’s narrative elements.

In development for over a year now, Massive Chalice was successfully crowdfunded through Kickstarter on June 27, 2013, almost doubling their $725,000 goal with a final budget of $1,229,015. In addition to Tactics and Fire Emblem, Muir—whose previous projects include Iron Brigade—cites X-COM and even Game of Thrones as sources of inspiration.

Massive Chalice is coming to Windows PC, Mac OS X, Linux, and Xbox One. According to the Kickstarter page’s backer sidebar, the game is expected to launch next month, in September (at least, on the PC side).
