Mechanist Games has decided to drop the whole beta key access idea and is just going to open City of Steam‘s beta up to everyone later this week.

Originally the plan was to have a special preview beta for key holders ahead of the full open beta, but this idea has been dropped. The game will now enter open beta from May 10 and anyone who wishes to try the game out can do so by simply downloading the client.

The open beta will include an improved tutorial, events, wilderness levels, and even the ability to jump. You can read more about the game over on its official site.
