Helldivers, a top-down shooter from Magicka developers Arrowhead Game Studios, is coming to PS4, PS3, and PS Vita in 2014, Sony announced during Gamescom today.

According to a post on the PlayStation Blog from game director Johan Pilestedt, Helldivers features both single-player co-op missions for up to four players. The game utilizes procedurally-generated battlefields and cross-play/cross-save functionality between PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. The title is described as being set in “a satirical and dystopian future where mankind is ruled by a managed democracy.”

“As with all Arrowhead games, friendly fire is a key part of the game, and if you’re not careful with the Helldrivers’ explosive firepower, you’ll lose the mission and a few friends along the way,” Pilestedt wrote on the PlayStation Blog.
