Combat Arms Devs Rescue Tomonobu Itagaki, ‘Devil’s Third’ Game

Posted on July 20, 2012 AT 05:18pm

Former Tecmo executive and Team Ninja lead Tomonobu Itagaki finally has a publishing partner that can revive his stalled upcoming action game, Devil’s Third. Since being dropped from THQ’s project lineup, the title had been stagnant while looking for a new partnership that could produce the game.

That helping hand come by way of Korean developer Doobic Game Studios, who’s best recognized for the highly-successful free-to-play military shooter series, Combat Arms.

Itagaki’s Vahalla Game Studios will be forming a joint venture with Doobic as a result, both companies announced earlier today:

In addition to both home console and PC versions, Valhalla Game Studios plans to expand the “Devil’s Third” universe across a variety of digital devices and through various forms of entertainment.

The technical collaboration agreement we have reached with Doobic will greatly help in accelerating the expansion of the “Devil’s Third” franchise.

Not much has been seen or heard of Devil’s Third as a result of being dropped by THQ, and the developer only purchased back the full rights to the title’s properties earlier this month. About the last time anyone heard anything else regarding the project, Valhalla Game Studios had released a brief gameplay trailer.
