Funcom has released a new trailer for its upcoming survival game set in the universe of Conan the Barbarian, Conan Exiles, that focuses on the game’s building system.

The flexible system allows players to build safe havens anywhere in the game world, including up the side of mountains. Once a player’s city is up and running they can build altars that can be used to summon giant avatars of the gods that can wreak havoc and destruction on anything made by players.

Player bases also open up the Thrall system, which allows players to capture enemy NPCs from camps and use them in their base for defense, crafting, and more.

“They say that home is where your heart is, but in Conan Exiles home is where you keep the hearts of your enemies,” Joel Bylos, Creative Director at Funcom, said. “Building is a big part of Conan Exiles and you will need to build smart and build strong in order to defend yourself from the environment, cannibals, monsters, and of course enemy players. We are working hard to make sure players have powerful tools to build and defend their kingdoms.”

Conan Exiles is scheduled to enter early access on PC from January 31st, 2017, with an Xbox One release to follow in spring.
