Concept art points to Forza Horizon sequel set in the Deep South

Posted on March 12, 2014 AT 01:44pm

A pair of concept art pieces from videogame production service Dhruva Interactive suggests that a Forza Horizon sequel set in deep south is in the works, IGN reports.

Artist Sumeet Surve posted two pieces of artwork (seen above and below) to his CGHub page that depict cars driving through bayou-looking areas, both labeled as “concept art for Forza Deep South,”—presumably a working title. Dhruva Interactive previously created vehicles and environment assets for Forza Horizon and Forza Motorsport 4.

IGN’s findings are substantiated by reports from last year that U.K.-based studio Playground Games, one of the developers on Forza Horizon, had begun work on an “undisclosed next-gen Forza” game. Listings for the project appeared on their employees’ LinkedIn CVs, though the wording was eventually changed to “undisclosed Xbox One project.”

I would insert a True Detective joke, or comment about how there seems to be a cross-media move toward things set in Louisiana, But Josh already beat me to the punch in his report about a new Mafia game possibly being set in the state.
