Chris Seavor—the man responsible for creating the critically acclaimed Conker’s Bad Fur Day—has his sights set on an all new Wii U game.
Along with fellow Rare alumni Shawn Pile, Seavor is developing a 2D platformer called The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup, which will reportedly feature a rather dark undertone.
In an interview with Nintendo Life, Seavor touched upon the sotryline, saying “It’s a very sad tale. It’s not dark as in ‘mature’—it’s not got swearing in it, or anything like that. It’s quite a serious and adult story, but still a fun and hopefully playable game with lots going on. There will be moments of dark humor, but nothing gory.”
Seavor was reluctant to mention details surrounding the gameplay, though he did admit the platformer has a surprising level of depth to it. “You physically move in and out of the screen,” he explained. “It’s also got hints of Lemmings in there.”
Seavor confirmed The Unlikely Legend of Rusty Pup will launch on the Wii U and 3DS eShops, but made no mention about its release date beyond a vague “2014.” We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information.
