Grand Theft Auto

A new screenshot has surfaced on the portfolio website of a Grand Theft Auto developer showing Grand Theft Auto IV‘s Liberty City as it would look with Grand Theft Auto V visuals.

The image appears to be specifically located in GTA IV‘s Middle Park, as can be seen in the comparison GIF below. It was first discovered by GTA Forum users Spider-Vice and BlackScout. The render is reportedly one of a series posted to the portfolio website of Adrian Page, who currently works as an artist at Rockstar Games, according to his LinkedIn profile. The portfolio site was recently taken down, likely in response to the discovery of the image.

It’s entirely possible that the shots are simply a throwaway to demonstrate Page’s abilities or an internal test from during GTA V‘s development. This idea is supported by the fact that, according to community analysis, the lack of 3D modeling in the grass suggest this version of Liberty City was built for the last-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V, which Rockstar has already announced will no longer receive DLC. That said, speculation of a Liberty City?set expansion for Grand Theft Auto V has circulated for some time, so nothing’s off the table.

Any association with Grand Theft Auto VI is also possible, but less probable considering developer Rockstar hasn’t reportedly decided on a location yet, and if it “looks great creatively”, it could even suggest a GTA IV remaster coming down the line.

Could Liberty City DLC be coming to Grand Theft Auto V?

It's probably wishful thinking, but an image posted by a Rockstar artist gives reason to hope.
