It was announced last year that the long-forgotten PlayStation game MediEvil was going to be resurrected in the form a remastered version in 2018. While details on the PlayStation 4-exclusive title have been scarce, recent comments from a Walmart representative suggest we could see the MediEvil remaster, its sequel, and the rumored Spyro remastered trilogy very soon.

Twitter user Resurrect Fortesque recently shared screenshots of a Walmart support chat that include several revealing details about the upcoming MediEvil remaster and more. As you can see in the first tweet below, the retail representative said the game “will be available in one month,” with pre-orders beginning on April 10th, two weeks before its alleged launch. As the Twitter user states, PAX East will be taking place April 5th through the 8th, which would line up nicely with the aforementioned April 10th pre-order date. Interestingly, the user also asked about the long-rumored Spyro trilogy remasters, with the rep stating it will supposedly release around the same time as MediEvil.

Then, in a different conversation with Walmart’s online chat representatives, the user asked for a release date and if the PlayStation 4 version of MediEvil will include MediEvil II. According to the representative, the remaster will also include the sequel and will launch on April 30th. It’s unclear if the purported addition of MediEvil II will be a remaster as well or just a port of the original PlayStation game from 2000. Check out the tweet below to see the full conversation.

Oddly enough, another retail leak centered on the rumored Spyro Treasure Trilogy recently made the rounds. The AskTarget Twitter account reportedly told a fan the trilogy of remasters would be arriving in late 2018, which is a much later date than the Walmart employee offered. In turn, while the retailers appear confident of their release dates, we already have two conflicting reports.

While the possible launch windows for both remasters is shocking and exciting all at once, the details should be seen as rumors for now. While retailers can get insider information earlier than the public, it’s odd to see how open the representatives are with revealing the information. Of course, the Walmart employees could be unaware they’re revealing coveted details, but it’s always better to take these leaks as speculation and wait for official confirmation from the publishers.

Could the MediEvil remaster be bigger than we thought?
