THE BUZZ: Valve has revealed its matchmaking plans for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, as well as sharing some details about “Casual Mode.”
They plan on using a new skill-based matchmaking system that, although new to Counter-Strike players, has been used in many console FPS’. Players will be matched based on their skill level, so everyone will be playing people that are of a similar ability. New to the franchise is “Casual Mode” that will offer players unlimited money at the start of each round to buy any weapons that they wish, although not confirmed, you can expect this mode to only allow lower ranked players in.
The game is scheduled to release early 2012 for XBLA, PSN and PC.
EGM’s TAKE: Valve is making some serious changes to accommodate the new console players that are coming in, however the heart of the franchise will still be there for fans to enjoy.
