Earlier today rumours began circulating that a new Counter-Strike could be in the works.
Well Valve has now confirmed that the rumours are true and that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be releasing for the Xbox 360, PS3, MAC and PC in early 2012.
Valve said in a press release;
CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition,CS: GOwill introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.”

Valve also revealed that the title will be playable at this years PAX Prime and the Eurogamer Expo.
