Crackdown 3‘s release date has been pushed back again and again, but according to Phil Spencer, the developers finally have a date “locked in.”
Crackdown 3 was first announced way back at E3 2014, and after the game’s release date kept moving backwards, even Microsoft admitted that the game was probably announced “too early.” Originally set to release in summer 2016, the game was pushed back to November 2017. Development overshot that date as well into a tentative window of spring 2018. We’ve now entered that window, and since there hasn’t been much news on the game, it seems likely that it will miss this spring window as well.
However, Xbox boss Phil Spencer offered some hope to despondent fans on Twitter wondering about the release date. In response to a conversation about fans not hearing any news and expressing their concerns over the game ever coming out, Spencer reassured fans that the “wait won’t be too long.”
We have a plan and team is locked in on their date. We will talk about it more upcoming but wait won’t be too long.

Spencer didn’t give Crackdown 3 a release date or even a launch window, but it seems that we won’t be waiting too long to find out a release date. With E3 2018 only a few months away, it’s possible that we’ll hear more news at the conference.
Crackdown 3 is in development for Xbox One and PC.
