Criterion’s New IP Is Not A Racing Game

Posted on April 16, 2013 AT 06:00am

Criterion, best known for its array of top-notch racing title, is working on a brand new IP, and shock-horror it’s not a racing game!

Studio exec Alex Ward explained on Twitter that “it’s time to make something new.” Ward was quick to add that this doesn’t mean that the Burnout franchise is dead, “I am proud of all of the Burnout games. When it feels right we will make another one. We are creative people.”

Criterion is currently in charge of the Need for Speed franchise so it’s suspected that the developer will split into two teams, one working on racing games and the other on this new IP.
