Timesplitters 4 was recently rumoured to be in development for the next generation of consoles however Crytek has since denied any knowledge of the technology, however they failed to mention Timesplitters.
In a recent interview with NowGamer Avni Yerli, co-founder of Crytek discussed the companies plans for this age old franchise.
“Obviously Timesplitters, historically, was for them [Crytek UK] an important IP,”
“From our perspective we always had a lot of fun playing Timesplitters -
Timesplitters 2 was amazing fun. Crytek and Crytek UK are interested in
the IP; we are thinking about it but were trying to decide what we
could do best with the IP, where we could bring it. There are no
concrete plans yet.”
On the topic of possible HD remakes;
“Thats a good idea! [laughs] There are indeed a lot of games doing it
but we havent thought about that yet. But its a good idea…”
