According to a tweet by David Adams, one of the founders of Vigil Games and current CEO of Crytek USA, Crytek will be making a bid on the Darksiders IP when it goes up for auction.
Going to bid on Darksiders IP. Put 7 years of heart and soul into that franchise, and I think it belongs at home with its creators.

In February, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli told GamesBeat his company wasn’t interested in Darksiders 3.
“We didn’t want to continue with Darksiders 3, since that doesn’t fit with our strategy. It’s not like we set the team on a specific game concept,” CEO Cevat Yerli told GamesBeat. “They’re actually going to work on what David and the team identifies as what they want to do.
“Right now, they just know what the strategy of Crytek is and the framework we need to satisfy, but none of that drives what the game is about.”
Destructoid, however, reached out to Vigil co-founder Ryan Stefanelli, who told confirmed Crytek’s intention bid for Darksiders.
“When the Darksiders IP goes up for auction, Crytek will be bidding for it,” Stefanelli told Destructoid. “Not much more to say since the rest is left up to courts and legal shenanigans, but we’re all excited at the prospect.”
