According to CyberConnect 2 CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama, the developer is in the planning stages of a new .hack game, 4Gamer reports.
“CyberConnect 2 have already begun the planning for the latest installment of the .hack series, and it’s only a matter of time until we can make it a reality,” Matsuyama said at an art event for the company’s iOS/Android title Guilty Dragon (translated by Siliconera).
The last proper installment of in the .hack series was 2007’s .hack//G.U. Vol. 3: Redemption for PS2. A manga story set three years after Redemption titled .hack//Link was released in Japan for the PlayStation Portable in 2010, and a PS3 fighting game called .hack//Versus was included in the Blu-ray release of .hack//The Movie in Japan.
