Spelunky’s first update for PS3 and Vita version adds Daily Challenges to the platformer-roguelike, developer Mossmouth announced.
The Daily Challenge feature generates levels from the same seed for everyone taking them on. Players compete to rack up the highest score for bragging rights, but only get one chance at it. Upon death, players have to wait until the next day for the next challenge.
In addition to Daily Challenges, the update addresses several bugs plaguing Spelunky, including slowdown in some areas and one that caused select Trophies from being obtained.
Spelunky came to PS3 and Vita August 27. For more on Mossmouth’s push-pull of punishment, can check out my review of the PS3 version.
