Darksiders 2 Has A 100-Wave Arena Mode, New Game Plus Features

THQ’s upcoming action title Darksiders 2 will have a couple of features geared towards strengthening its replay value, revealing an arena mode and a “New Game Plus” addition today. It’ll apparently take multiple playthroughs to fully customize main character Death to his full potential, so you can probably feel free to beef up the difficultly.
According to THQ’s press release, the “Arena Challenge Mode” will offer players prizes for burning through waves and waves of enemies without dying.
There’s 100 waves of combat to endure, and you’ll pick up bonuses for every five waves you survive (and likely an extra Achievement or PS3 Trophy if you complete the set).
Darksiders 2‘s New Game+ mode is pretty much self-explanatory, letting you keep all the skills and upgrades you got from your initial run, which should make a return trip though the game pretty easy.
Notably, Darksiders didn’t have a full “New Game+” mode, but instead offered players the ability to start the game again with the extremely beefed-up optional Abyssal Armor.
Darksiders 2 will release for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on August 14th, and is expected to be one of THQ’s better sellers this year. Hopefully, it performs well, because the developers are angling for a possible trilogy installment.
