Darksiders 2 June Release May Be In Jeopardy

THE BUZZ: THQ has expressed uncertainty over the previously announced June release date for Darksiders 2.
In a recent interview, website Ripten asked Danny Bilson, THQ’s exec VP for core games, if the game was still on track for the announced release date when a THQ rep interrupted stating: ”Honestly, I can’t confirm that right now. The team is actually on the road. I can get back to you.”
“It’s a huge game … We’re going to give that team everything they need to make it as good as it can be,” Bilson added.
When pressed further he responded, ”We haven’t announced anything… but the team is working really, really hard. We’re not going to ship it before it’s done.”
EGM’s TAKE: THQ can’t afford for Darksiders 2 to flop in anyway, the already troubled company needs positive sales from this major release. Could this mean that it plans on moving the announced release date if it doesn’t feel the game is perfect? From THQ’s standpoint it seems like the logical thing to do, but consumers won’t be happy and a delay could negatively effect sales. These are dangerous times for THQ, facing financial trouble the company is relying on good sales to see it through, and one game breaking bug or unpolished feature could spell disaster.
