A new extended demo of Darksiders III gives fans a fresh look at the sequel’s fusion of post-apocalyptic action and exploration.
Darksiders III follows Fury, one of the four Horsemen of the apocalypse (although not a direct biblical interpretation, obviously) and the series’ first female anti-hero. Like her brothers from the games before, Fury is on Earth trying to right some cataclysmic wrongs. The character’s unique fighting style employs a whip and magic, giving her a combative feel distinct from the other horsemen.
While the new gameplay demo by IGN suggests that the sequel’s combat is very reminiscent of previous Darksiders games, Fury’s whip seems to give her gameplay a notable Dante’s Inferno feel as well, not to mention the fact that each of Darksiders III‘s bosses represent one of the seven deadly sins. The demo is over 11 minutes long, and takes Fury from a monster-infested subway to a large network of caves that hold more dire threats.
The previous IGN First demo of the game showed off a short fight with a Lava Brute. Prior to that, yet another IGN First episode followed Fury through her first gameplay reveal, from which we can see clear improvements the game has undergone since.
Darksiders III was only confirmed a little over a year ago, but the launch is already almost upon us, as THQ Nordic recently revealed. Darksiders III is slated to launch November 27th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
