Ever since Kiefer Sutherland was announced as the new voice of Big Boss, the speculation has been that David Hayter would still have some role to play in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, but today he has confirmed—for the final time—that he is not involved with the game in any way.
Hayter has voiced the iconic Solid Snake—and later Big Boss—ever since the series first launched on the original PlayStation, but with the official announcement of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, series creator Hideo Kojima revealed that Sutherland would be taking over as the new voice of Big Boss.
Of course this didn’t stop the Internet, and ever since this announcement people have speculated that Hayter will still have a role to play, maybe as a younger version of Snake.
However, today Hayter put those rumors to bed on Twitter.
Guys, For the millionth — and last — time. I am not in Metal Gear V. In any way. At all. No joke. Just not. True story. Best, DH
