A pair of tweets from screenwriter/veteran Snake voice actor David Hayter strongly indicates that—as of this moment—he won’t be voicing Snake in round five.

Earlier today, when news of Metal Gear Solid 5 first broke, Hayter cryptically tweeted that he at least had a good run. Then, when a fan queried whether Konami/Kojima asked him to voice snake, Hayter responded “Nope.”

If you watched the trailer from this morning’s announcement, you may have noticed that Snake doesn’t do a lot of talking. Toward the end, there is some voiced script, which doesn’t much sound like Hayter’s Big Boss. If the writing’s on the wall, it seems, then, that future of Metal Gear Solid will be Hayter-free.
