Twisted Metal and God of War creator David Jaffe has joined indie developer Pixelbionic to create a new car battler: Autoduel.
“I was super excited when I heard Pixelbionic’s vision for Autoduel,” said Jaffe, who is acting as Pixelbionic’s creative advisor. “As a huge fan of the genre, I’m really looking forward to contributing to the game’s vision and design goals.”
Jaffe joins several other game development veterans, including Max Kauffman, who worked on The Bard’s Tale; Mike Arkin, who worked on Battlezone; Scot Kramarich, who worked on Interstate ’76; Rafael Paiz, who worked on Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and others.
“Our mission is to assemble a team of car combat visionaries to deliver the game fans want to not only play but also help create,” Pixelbionic co-founder and president Mike Arkin said. “Autoduel pairs the vision of the best talent int he industry with the enthusiasm and support of gamers, a combination we are confident will set the bar for what can be achieved in a new PC vehicular combat game.”
Autoduel will be PC-exclusive. Pixelbionic will be crowdfunding development of the multiplayer car combat title through a Kickstarter campaign.
