David Jaffe Responds to Twisted Metal Network Issues

By

THE BUZZ: It seems as though Sweet Tooth has been running amok online and screwing with network connectivity for the recently launched Twisted Metal reboot.

Players have been complaining about network connectivity errors since the game launched last Tuesday, February 14. In a new VLOG post, lead designer David Jaffe updates fans with the latest information regarding the network problem as well as a number of other issues.

It seems like the Network error is a combination of things, including a mistaken message when a particular room is full. Instead of redirecting to a different room, the error message pops up. Reportedly, this error is affecting about 10% of the matches. A few fixes are mentioned, but Sony is hoping to have that issue fixed today so hopefully it will be a non-issue soon.

Jaffe also makes it a point to ask the community for assistance in gathering information to solve other issues that Sony is having trouble duplicating. Jaffe assures users that once these bugs are squashed he’ll get to the business of adjusging any balancing issues fans are experiencing.

EGM’s TAKE: This is why fans love Jaffe. The man killed himself for months getting Twisted Metal out the door, and now that it’s on store shelves he’s working harder to make sure the experience is as clean as possible. Plus, he jumps online to talk about what’s wrong and what’s being done about it. As for the issues being experienced, they are certainly annoying, but we hope everyone will give Sony a few days to get things corrected. Twisted Metal is a great game and it deserves to be played once the kinks are worked out.

Marc Camron, Senior Editor
Marc Camronhas a new obsession: Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. It has sucked me in like few games have before (the original Final Fantasy Tactics comes to mind). I must acquire all of the familiars, craft every item and win every arena battle! I'm looking for a 12 step program, but I'm having difficulty finding one that will accept me. If you can help please e-mail.
